The spread sheet design will be made up of three distinct spreadsheets a customer sheet, a supplier sheet, and a sold car sheet. Each sheet will have a unique design, with a distinct organization system, and Formulae base, to make it specific to its purpose. The first page, known as the customer page will be used to store customer contact information as they come in, and to keep a running list of all the potential customers for promotional mailings, other marketing plans, and to prevent asking for repeat information on return visits. Information stored on the customer sheet will include Customer name, address, phone number, and products owned.
The second sheet, known as the supplier sheet, will include a list of suppliers, the products a supplier carries or services, and product availability or inventory. Information stored on this sheet will make it easier for customer products to be paired with the right supplier to ensure the fastest possible turnaround time.
The final sheet, or the car’s sold sheet, will be designed to record a car that is sold, and who purchased it. In many ways, it will be used to align and track the interaction of the first two pages of the sheet, because this is where the actual transactions will be monitored and recorded. It will include information like the price a car was sold at, what discounts or trade in values were given, and whether or not a warranty was purchased.
Five formulas that would be useful on these spreadsheets include the =ADDRESS formulae, the =IF function, the =Now function, the =COUNTIF function, and the =SUM formulae (Bluttman 2010).
