TEPPFA consists of 15 national associations with11 main companies across the Europe manufacturing pipes (TEPPFA, p.1). TEPPFA is the name for the European Plastic Pipes and Fittings Association, that is the trade association representing the national associations and the manufacturers of plastic pipes in Europe. TEPPFA is a non-profit organization that was founded in Belgium in 1992. The company was then registered by Royal Decree to work for the interests of the European manufacturers. The company helps in raising awareness regarding the pipes in order to provide a sustainable future in the field. Recently, two main companies from Europe joined the TEPPFA. With the addition of Polypipe Group and the Radius Group, TEPPFA now represents eleven manufacturers (TEPPFA, p.1).
The main mission of the company is to present and promote high-quality pipes with quality marks and standards; drive the industry towards the continuous environment and sustainable position and the key messages should be developed and communicated for the real sustainable benefit. TEPPFA participates with other companies such as Uponor and Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association of America (PPFA). It helps to coordinate on the environmental issues to promote the safe application of the product (TEPPFA, p.1).
One of the most important paper was delivered by TEPPFA which provided examples regarding the sustainable nature of the product it offers. Many studies have been conducted by LCA to provide evidence of incontrovertible of low impact on the environment regarding a wide range of application of pipes.The LCA was able to elaborate further upon the fact that the stakeholders throughout the world have been communicating the scientific results to the customers as this will help to prosper the industry (TEPPFA, p.1).
