Health and Human Services Department is engaged in providing health through services programs and science technology and provides medicines and social services to Americans. The goals of the Department are clear to provide health and safety with advanced science technology and innovations and increase efficiency and transparency and accountability. The department provides the data every year to inspect the performance and to provide the clear picture to others.
The summary of the data of last year shows the improvement in performance of the department. The increment in the health centers, improvement in early childhood programs are its remarkable performance. The reduction in the graph of annual adult cigarette consumption is another achievement of this department. The department not only concerned to provide medicine, but it makes programs so that to get rid of those habits that creates diseases. Through increasing the staffs in the health centers, they can provide services at large. The new goals of the department about the insurance program and safety of the patients indicate the intention of the department to move forward and improve (Harris, 2005).
The accountability is also an important work to be done. The accountability shows that how much improvement is done and how much needed of improvement. The different tasks of the actions are revealed in the accounts of the department. Its accountability will help the department to check the performance and to verify that it has worked on the relevant areas and how much the output of the different tasks received (Boehner, 2000).
