A review of the literature

The results of the study show that consumers, workers, and even the other people contribute towards the implementation of reverse logistics movements. In addition to the progressive stance of the manager having a vital impact on the final decision-making process is leading to the implementation of the reverse logistics systems illustrated in the study. On the other hand, the study also comes to the conclusion that the importance associated with the shareholders has a negative effect on the decision of whether to implement a reverse logistics programs or not (Álvarez-Gil & Lado, 2007). The paper will evaluate the basic methods used in the study and identify the alternative method that is effective.
The incompatibility in the quality, quantity and timing of returned products is a vital characteristic of the reverse logistics network. In order to approach the real life problem, the uncertainty associated with the reverse flow has to be taken into consideration. The majority of research in this field did not consider the uncertainty explicitly in the model. Instead, deterministic models were developed, and scenario-based approaches used to study the effect of being uncertain presented in the real life problem. Nevertheless, some researchers adopted a different technique and incorporated uncertainty in the modeling stage. The researchers wanted to incorporate other methods so as to test the model's effectiveness.
An evaluation of the study helps determine the fact that the design of the paper is adequate for discussing the problem. The article also answers the Research questions regarding the reasons for shifting to a reverse logistics systems. The report helps in acknowledging the factors of the study that can pose a problem like the inclusion of Just Spanish companies limit the research (Ittmann, 2009). The authors adequately instituted the salience of the question of research by utilizing both primary, as well as secondary research. The primary research helped in getting the perception from the area of study while the secondary sources helped in comparison. The methods of data gathering are efficient and the conclusion derived from the study that the size of the company has a small, but positive effect on the possibility that an RL System one might implement. However, financial performance has a detrimental impact that proposes that RL systems that one might even start after a bad financial performance are realistic. The implications of the research methods used in the study and utilization of a three-pronged approach along with a research design that incorporates different methods of data gathering have expanded the limited previous knowledge. Looking at the research methodology, as well as research in general helped, to comprehend the complexities of research and statistical inference better and encouraged the validity and reliability of the research(Tabikh, 2013).
One alternative to the reverse logistics is waste management. It has various strengths that it brings to the table in that it does lead to reduced waste. The method encourages greater reliability of supply and shorter throughput times, but also to a better understanding of the processes and their variation. The method will be able to establish a system of quality improvement to minimize, recycle, and reuse the waste that the other processes generate.
The waste management objective is to minimize three elements: cost, energy, and waste uncertainty in the quantity, quality, and timing of returned products that is a vital characteristic of the reverse logistics network.
