Concerning the situation in the Russian culture Nicholas Rzhevsky states that “the significant contributions of the literary works gathered here at such fundamental levels of cultural discourse suggest that the magnificent cultural tradition Russian writers represent and invigorate will continue to find an audience”. To tell the truth, I am a strong adherent to the aforementioned author’s words. It is a quite generally agreed fact that this culture is considered to be one of the most popular cultures worldwide by right. It ought to be noted that the Russian Federation appears to be a multinational state. In general, Russians comprise 80 per cent of the whole population of the country. Still, there reside around 180 nationalities as well. That obviously means that the Russian culture, which is based on the Russian language, dominates in a historical sense. At the same time, last but not least is that those other nationalities plays an important role in the development of the Russian culture.
However, literature is not that unique phenomenon in the process of the culture development we would rather pay attention to. A culture seems to Frankly speaking, no one can overrate the significance of the cinema of Russia, which is highly appreciated in the whole world, or the art of Russia with its bright representatives as Aivazovsky and Repin. Talking about cinematography, it will not surprise an ordinary human that the Russian one is going to be not developing, but developed enough. It always has a large audience within either Post-Soviet states or Western European ones. The last argument for the benefit of the Russian culture might is that many movies are dobbed and, for instance, the aforementioned “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”, which is translated into several hundred languages.
