Moreover, I have noticed that in this community children are less keen when crossing the roads.

The essay: Safety Considerations in Cedar Mill Community
The Cedar Mills community is a relatively new community comprising of many families that have young children. It is also a fast growing community and as it grows more families with younger generation move. Though relatively new to this community, I have noticed that many children and parents do not understand the safety rules of the community. For example, most people in this community do not observe the road safety rules and this in inconveniencing to the others road users who do. However, I believe that the onus to rectify the situation lies with us as members of this community. For example I believe that if we can keep convening occasional meetings and bring different role models such the fire department, the police officers or other safety personnel to teach the community about safety risks, precautions and the importance of adhering to the community rules, the community would be a better place to live in for all of us.
I can relate the situation at The Cedar Mills community with my previous community. In my previous community, we realized that occasional fires were posing a danger to our safety. As a result, we need to come together and deliberate over pressing safety matters. As one community, eventually, we will be able to develop a wide range of effective community safety initiatives and other prevention programs. These included fire education programs for all the members of the community, fire education programs for the schools as well as other intervention and fire awareness programs for known juvenile fires starters in the community. All these programs were run in partnership with schools, parents, and the firefighter’s personnel.
In addition, since road safety was also identified as another safety threat in the community, through same initiatives we were able to develop a comprehensive road safety education initiative. In the end, the community was able to achieve a comprehensive and innovative fire and motor vehicle accident prevention program. With the cooperation of everyone in this community, the same can be achieved here. However, the efforts require genuine partnership and collaboration under the auspice of community driver development.
