Bureaucracy in the United States has started decades and decades back. It was supposed to produce good outcome in the government and the nation. It’s main goal was to bring peace and order to the nation by having a solid chain of command that will lead the nation effectively. The vision was to have a group of individuals who have the same set of goals focus on a specific task to make sure they are able to master that skill and provide the best service possible in that are of the society. With different well organized groups who excel in each specific area of the society, success of the whole nation is the only possible result.
However, as time passed by, bureaucracy has changed. The idea does not come all positive to all people of the nation as it continuously shows great negative outcomes in the society. Instead of bringing peace, order and unity, it usually brings confusion and chaos among different branches of government and area of society as each organization or group would have different set of goals which does not always agree with other organization’s goal. Bureaucracy also has resulted to a great deal of corruption in the country. Bureaucrats have come to use their power, position and connections in a negative way.
Bureaucracy is actually a good thing and it should have stayed that way. However, humans, with the inner evil in them have taken advantage of the power that bureaucracy has given them. And it has, of course, brought a lot of negative outcomes in our society. But we still should not lose hope. The idea and true meaning is still there to remind and guide each one of us how the society should work for the success of the whole nation. We were given the freedom to do what is right and to fight for what is right. Let’s not waste that privilege.
