Free The Cycle Of Procrastination Essay Example

At my school, we are given assignments which enable us to learn more about the course and practice what we have learnt. However, I am always unable do my assignments on time because of procrastination and distraction from other activities. Since my lecturers are very strict about deadlines, I always find myself doing my assignments at the last minute, therefore, working under a lot of pressure. This assignment is a perfect example.

When I get to my dorm room, I like to relax when I am watching a movie or a series. I always promise myself that I will only watch one episode of the series but most of the time I find myself watching up to five episodes in a row. This makes me feel guilty that I have wasted a lot of time and I promise myself that I will start working on my assignment immediately.

After eating, it is way past midnight and I am very tired and sleepy. I decide to go to sleep and then wake up very early, at 4 am, to work on my assignment which is due at 10 am the next day. When my alarm goes off, I snooze it again and again. I wake up with a start, it is 7 am and I have not started working on my assignment. I jump out of bed, prepare myself and then I start working on it hurriedly.

I finish it at 9:50 am and submit it just in time. I am flooded with relief and happiness and I hope that I will start working in my next assignment early.
