The globe dimensions and cultural characteristics is a study by Robert J. House and his team. This essay is an analysis of how this study relates to the present culture and globalization. There are a plenty of similarities as well as differences reflected in Globes practices and values and my practices and values. The world is growing fast and with the continuous internationalization and globalization, I find that there is an increasing need to do business and relate to people across all cultures. The GLOBE dimensions of power distance, uncertainty- avoidance, In-group- collectivism and future orientation are very much similar to my cultural practices and values. However, with respect to Gender Egalitarianism, I believe that roles have changed in my present world, and girls are expected as much as boys to do well and attain higher education. Also, in current cultural practices, people have become less tolerant of mistakes. In addition, the degree to which individuals are assertive and aggressive in social relationships is different. Culture is seen as the main frame of information, character and traits that an individual acquires as a member of a group. The modern world is developing towards globalization and societies, and communities have to participate in it and their participation is determined by social, political, cultural and economic conditions. The effect of inter-cultural communication is seen when countries with different dialects have dialog and find understanding geared towards solving a common problem.
However, it is prudent to promote intercultural communication and also try to resolve world conflict that has been as a result of different cultural practices. For example, the crisis between ISIS and the U.S. has been caused by various religious beliefs.
