Reproductive and sexual health

Introduction
Reproduction and sexual health are a crucial topic when it comes Increasing the numbers of individuals who are living a healthy life. Most of the youth and teenagers lack knowledge on reproduction and sexual health hence most of them are at the risk of contracting sexually transmitted infection. There are many strategies that can be put in place to help the youths and teenagers live a healthy life and are discussed below:
Most of the youths and adolescents lack knowledge on how the STI are and how they can be treated. The ignorance among the youth is the primary reason as to why they fall victim of sexually transmitted infection. One of the most efficient way to deal with STIs is through reproductive and sexual health education. Through peer education, the youths and teenagers will be able to understand their sexuality and how it works hence they will not expose themselves to the STIs. Educating the youths on how the STI are and how they can be prevented will help reduce STIs instances as teenagers and youths will practice safe sex hence minimizing instances of transmitting of the STIs (Gilling-Smith, 2000).
Trough education youths can know that some of the STIs can be if they seek medical assistance while the infection is on its early developing stages. Instead of them living in shame when they are they will find medical attention hence their lives will return to normal. Treatment of some of these STIs will reduce disease transmission hence in turn helping the state to be healthy (Satcher, 2001).
Education and HIV testing will prevent further spread of this illness. Through education, teenagers will learn how to avoid contracting this infection. They will start practicing safe sex, or other may choose to abstain. Through education, teenagers will learn how to use protection. Research conducted show that most teenagers who contract HIV is because of, not using the protection or those teenagers that have knowledge of protection do not know how to use them. Training the teenagers on how to protect themselves from this disease will help reduce the number of persons that are suffering from this infection (Aggleton, 2000). Through HIV testing and canceling those that have already contracted the disease will be on how to live healthily. Counseling will help them to come forward and seek medication hence they will learn to appreciate that HIV is just like other disease, and life can continue even after one is. It will reduce the deaths that result from HIV for those individual that do not seek medical attention. Those that are will also learn the importance of, not spreading this disease further, and this will reduce the infections of from people with HIV.
Reproduction and sexual health will also help the teenagers prevent unwanted pregnancies and the adverse effect of overusing contraceptives. Most of the teenagers especially the Girls suffer a significant complication by using the contraceptive inappropriately. Other may end up losing their lives when they try to abort. It is not because the teenagers are careless so that they suffer most of the times suffering (Oakley, 2005). It is due to lack of knowledge that lead them to do the thing that threaten their health.
In conclusion, we see that most of the health problem that affect the teenagers and young youths can be reduced if we focus on educating them. The only way to save the generation of adolescents and young people for them to live a healthy life is through education.
