My thoughts on creation have strengthened. Indeed, God is the sole creator of all that exists in the world. It is through God’s intervention that the world is the way it is today. God took the initiative and continued to sustain all that is living. The whole world is under God’s care. God is the sole provider and protector.
God, who is in three; the father, the son and the Holy Spirit created the earth in six days. The story of creation is well illustrated in Genesis and confirmed in the book of Exodus. God created man on the sixth day, which marked the climax of creation. A man was created in the image and likeness of God. He was also given dominion over all the living creatures. It makes him superior to all the creatures that God created. A man was given responsibility to name the animals, and was told to take care of the Garden of Eden. Seeing that man was lonely, God created woman from his ribs that she may give him companionship.
God placed man and woman in the Garden of Eden. Here, they got everything they wanted. God purposed for a perfect life for humans; however, this changed when they committed sin (NIV Study Bible, 2011). God sent them away from the garden, and man was supposed to till the land to get his livelihood. A woman was subjected to pain during childbirth.
Though humans sinned, God is merciful. He sent his only son Jesus as a way of restoring the perfection He had intended for humans. Jesus came to take away the sins of the earth. During Jesus’ time, many people accepted salvation. As a promise, Jesus said that they would dine with Him and His Father in heaven. Christians believe that after death they will go to heaven. The second restoration of the earth is yet to come. Jesus said that it would come at a time that people least expect it. Signs that will preside the second coming of Jesus are documented in the book of Revelation.
Scientist has come up with various ways of giving meaning to the existence of the world (Parker 2006). One of the theories brought forward is evolution. Charles Darwin came up with this particular theory. He claims that humans have gradually developed from simple creatures to become the complex beings they are today. Darwin explains that the human race was once apes. That did not walk straight, ate raw food and survived through hunting. He further explains that physical aspects of man have developed over time as an adaptation. For example, he believes that humans had the stereotypic vision to help them in hunting as it increased their vision scope. He also believes that the teeth of men have undergone various adaptations. During the time that man survived on hunting as a predator. He had strong carnassial teeth for gripping and tearing through the flesh of his prey (Parker 2006).
There are various ways in which fossils are dated to support man’s gradual development. Among the various ways is carbon dating (Sarfati & Wieland 2000). It works be counting the amount of carbon atoms present in things that previously existed. Plants need carbon dioxide in the air to form food. In turn, the plants are eaten by animals and humans. Carbon in humans is stored in bones and it enables the carbon dating of fossils (Sarfati & Wieland 2000).
Though scientists have tried to come up with ways to come up with ways to give meaning to creation true meaning exists in the Bible (Institute for Creation Research, 2015). The Bible gives a clear historical and factual chronology of events. God is the sole creator of the universe and creation exists because He exists.
