Business Name: TopScratch
Company Background: TopScratch is a one-stop shop/startup company that sells digital codes and keys for prepaid mobile phones and gaming accounts through online means. TopScratch gives the opportunity to acquire prepaid mobile credits and gaming codes through convenient means. TopScratch’s business model relies on partnerships with other companies focusing on mobile and digital telecommunications. Hence, TopScratch and its affiliate partners will incorporate important technical features and patents to create a system that automatically generates a purchased digital mode through systematic and secure means.
Type of Business: Micro-size enterprise, sole proprietorship. Sole proprietorship is the preferred setup for startup businesses in order to reduce taxes and maximize business capital investment (Monahan, Shah, and Mattare, 2011).

Information Systems

The company plans to acquire a web-hosted server as a starting infrastructure as it gives the owner the financial flexibility and a simple information technology infrastructure to work around for operational purposes.

Any data collected by the company will be stored in the cloud system for backup purposes. Thus, making TopScratch prepared in the event of power failure and technical glitches. The company opts to acquire a sufficient database package that utilizes SQL procedures, preferably Oracle. Database systems will include a repository and automation of digital codes, which is synchronized with data repositories from other networks.

B. Systems Analysis

Each information technology infrastructure has their respective functions and purposes. This phase will be critical in analyzing the problem and other functions of implemented information systems. In addressing the requirements for IT-related concerns, five phases of system analysis will be followed accordingly. The first phase, known as the definition of scope, focuses on the subjectivity. It is followed by the problem analysis, wherein potential risks are addressed. Requirements analysis brainstorms ideas and solutions to the potential problems analyzed. Logical analysis looks deeper into relationships between entities and specific loopholes in a proposed solution. Decision analysis is the phase of affirmation and formality.

The networking design will follow the usual structure of communication. The proposed networking infrastructure includes a phone, and a Local Access Network-capable modem and a computer interconnected to one another. Setting up Wi-Fi systems around the business enables the guests and employees to have access to the Internet. However, the networking scheme should be customized to infiltrate any form of unauthorized access to the Internet.

E. Computer Infrastructure

At least three working computer units must be in place, with each unit serving their respective purposes. Computer units will be stationed at specific places, in a manner that an employee will be assigned to it. Each computer unit will be connected to the network and will include specific software bought from providers. Software products for acquisition will depend on the company’s daily operational needs.

F. Human Computer Interaction

A corresponding software application will be installed depending on an HCI-enabled device acquired. A biometric time recorder addresses the company’s timekeeping purposes. For the website, a captcha system will be included in detecting actual human activity for payment transactions.

G. Web Design

TopScratch will setup a website using responsive web design mechanics. This means that the website is mobile-friendly, which enables all users of different Internet-enabled devices to access the website. Responsive websites are easier to manage, because it could contribute to the online marketing strategy and wider exposure amongst customers (Taylor, 2013). Minimalist website aesthetics and dynamics are expected, as long as the important features of site navigation are present.
