The competency model was developed by the Association for Talent Development, previously the American Society for Training and Development in 2014. The model divides the competency into two parts. The first part comprises the foundational competencies of the individual and the second part has the areas of expertise (Association for Talent Development, 2014).
The foundational competencies are:
■ Business Skills: The ability of the individual in a business environment, procurement, sales, and supply chain.
■ Global Mindset: knowledge of the environment of the profession and business where the individual acts.
■ Industry Knowledge: The person must know the economy sector and industry where the profession or company is inscribed.
■ Interpersonal skills: The ability of the person to interact with other coworkers, clients, and providers.
■ Personal skills: The ability of the person to acquire new knowledge.
■ Technology Literacy: The knowledge of the person of communication and operational technologies to improve his work.
The areas of expertise are ten items that include the related experience of the individual according to the previous foundational competencies.
The managing learning programs and evaluating learning impact provide the leadership to execute the training of the organization personnel with a constant tracking of its performance.
The integrated talent management, coaching, and knowledge management develop the talent of the organization according to the objectives and strategic goals. The participation of the experienced employees to coach the inexperienced workers is a good practice in healthy organizations.
The change management and performance improvement apply a systematic process to administer the improvements and changes of the individual and enterprise, record them and make a repetitive process for the company.
The instructional design, training delivery, and learning technologies are the bases for the individual and organization to improve the knowledge and skills, to prepare the company for new challenges.
