Summary of Evaluation Methods

The definition of curricula development is an idea of organized preparation of what should be taught to students at a given time and in a given year. National League of Nursing (2012) I was influenced by this definition and the discussions and teachings from course 614. Nursing practice and education is evolving with ever expanding technology and in clinical practice. Nursing education should be in the forefront of improving their student knowledge and education as well as in practice.
Based on the curricula development course 606 Curriculum Development course I decided to change the format of assessments based on my students learning needs and the ongoing demand for improvement. In view of these facts I have decided to change my curriculum to suit the needs of my students’ student outcomes. Teachers use curricula development to more accurately assess students and develop strategies to be used in covering material in a course. Some methods that can be used are rubrics, worksheets, teachers’ worksheets and the teaching methodologies, which have proven effective in delivering knowledge.

FORMATIVE/ SUMMATIVE EVALUATION

Formative evaluation monitors learning progress during instruction. It is a diagnostic evaluation that identifies student strength and weakness to provide feedback. Allows the nurse educator to revise instructional materials clarify and update measurement instrument during course instruction not used for assigning grades, (McDonald, 2014).
Summative evaluation is used to describe the quality of student; achievement after an instructional process is completed. That focuses in on determining whether learning has occurred and outcome desired has been achieved. The main purpose is to assign a course grade.

Example:
