Slavery created a rise in the degree of Christianity amongst people. With divisions of whether the trade must continue or not, the religion gained a wider spread, and the humans went through emotional and physical torture. The units that came about slavery in Christian churches ended after a series of preaching on the evil act.
Slavery got comparisons from the ancient days using examples of Abraham, who had slaves. The Africans found slavery helped in sensitizing the need to have a proper means of worship. Slavery and Christianity stood together. Men built the churches, bibles came from babies’ sales and the clergy got support from the women.
Some missionaries and clergymen came aloud in the press stating the actions of slavery being so evil, the actions of the enslaver made Presbyterian clergyman “Elijah” state “it’s only God who has power over anybody no matter the race or color.” Another issue was slavery enslaves man and not the black man.
With slavery having many profits from the sales, Egypt supported this act since there were many warnings that it could get and the strategic location that the buyers could easily access the slaves. Exodus 15 shows the need of liberation and Africans in Egypt was so depressed and was in need for a better place that they could feel free.
The module explains the positive gain of Christianity from this trade. People build churches and bibles come in from babies’ sales that helped spread the religion but in the end, the slaves noted that God and not the enslaver own them. A need to abolish the act rose and started worshiping God as their leader and not the enslaver.
