Summary
Problems that the writer identified in the first application essay she wrote include lack of references, poor linking, weakness of the essay and many others. The writer mentions that her job interview essay had no reference to the beginning. The writer mentioned her grandmother at the beginning of the essay but later talked about milky bites probably because she was hungry. The end of the essay could then make no reference to its beginning. The writer linked her essay poorly and did not only need to link the introduction with the conclusion. The linking devices should have joined her paragraphs together and relate the paragraphs to make a flow of the essay. The writer also mentions that her essay was weak because she kept writing about “I don’t know”. Her opinions and ideas did not come out strongly, and the writer was also not sure about her topic of writing. The writer would have made her essay strongly by strengthening her statements and assuming like she is sure about what she is writing. Besides, the writer would have worked about her grandmother when talking about the milky bites to keep the references equal. Further, the writer would have linked her paragraphs equally and not just the conclusion and introduction alone.
