Good Essay On Acting

Just like in the past when the public had the impression that acting was associated with immorality, the same view still holds in present times. This is because most of the acting involves immoral scenes like murder, theft, lying, sexual explicitness, and vulgar talk; yet ironically, this is what fascinates most of the audience. Without some form of immorality, most of the highly rated acting would not be where it is. Therefore, I side with the view that although there is still some “good” acting, most of it is not and has a taint of immorality attached to it.
It is only after the film has played for a while that we are told that Zoe suffers from sexual addiction (Putlocker.is n.p.). Based on how briefly her sexual addiction is discussed in the film, it is apparent that this is just an alibi to escape the guilt and blame for her behavior. Most of the film does not focus on what caused the actor’s sexual addiction or her path towards recovery, but rather mainly shows her engaging in sexual activities. By omitting the process of recovery, this film has been criticized as sending women a wrong message. This is because there is minimal focus on the lead actor undergoing rehabilitation or taking significant responsibility for her wrong deeds (Thysistas.com n.p.). The wrong message in enhanced by the fact that the multiple sexual scenes seem to justify cheating (Thysistas.com n.p.). The fact that her husband easily forgives her after such betrayal may also send a wrong message that no matter the level of cheating, there is always forgiveness, which may encourage cheating.
Vulgar and abusive language has also been used especially where Quinton, one of Zoe’s lovers insults her after realizing that she has another lover besides her husband, and wants to end their relationship (Putlocker.is n.p.). Zoe also uses explicit and vulgar language in the scene where she fantasizes about her other lover Corey in her office. The use of vulgar language further contributes to acting being perceived as bad profession.
Based on how actors were seen in earlier days and even today, Sharon as Zoe would be put into the prostitute category due to her acting role. Sharon exhibits a lot of immorality and although this is just a film; the bottom-line is that she is being immoral during the acting. She is hence a good example of those tarnishing the acting profession, perpetuating its bad reputation.
