The variation in heritability of intelligence attributed to genetics remains one of the greatest debates. Speculation is that at least half of the intelligence differences present between individuals is attributable to genetics. From studies conducted to prove the possibility of intelligence heritability, there is suggestion that in identical twins, an average of about 75% of intelligence comes down to genes. On the other hand, however, scientists disapprove the assumption of intelligence heritability citing no particular gene identified to facilitate heritability.
Heritability of Intelligence from a personal view bears a significant level of possibility. I strongly agree with the possibility of attributing intelligence to genes. It is evident that there exists some similarity in intelligence matters among siblings.
Individual behavior presents a large extent of intelligence, and assessing behavior will provide an insight to the assumption of inheritability. In clinical and functional behavioral assessment, most of the factors incorporating individual intelligence show many similarities. The logic behind the behavioral assessment establishes that specific behavior occurs within a particular context and serves a particular purpose. The assessment focuses beyond the demonstrated behavior and further focuses on identifying social, affective, biological and environmental factors to discover the main motivating factor (Hersen, 2011). From the assessment, the motivating factor creates reflexes and attitudes that incline the behavior of siblings to share a lot of similarities.
In vocational, aptitude and interest tests, seeking to measure a broad spectrum of abilities, the tests assume that people differ in regard to special abilities, potential, and interests (Todd & Bohart, 2006). In that case, if the presentation given shows that there are differing interests, abilities, and potentials in the domestic context, it is possible that siblings would lean towards a similar but not identical liking. A reasonable degree of variance in the field or activity of interest demonstrates that intelligent factors involved in interests and preference share similarity. That shows that there is a relationship between the shared genes and the shared intelligent factors to incline towards similar areas of interest.
Taking a psychological test was engaging and felt like there were subconscious matters brought to the limelight. The results were accurate but to some extent gave a general relative discovery. It identified my interests and personality although some of the answers I presented deviated from the reality.
