The main objective that my group and I wanted to convey to the class is the impact of globalization of education is having on the world. There is a presumption that education is the driving force behind all things. The more educated a person becomes the greater the benefit to those nations that are wealthy. There is an elitism that comes with education that causes nation to be compared to nation. The globalization of education also has political implications that mold and shape the direction that nations will take collectively as time goes on.
My personal perception of the presentation is the integration of liberalism within education. This promotes critical thinking that is progressive in nature and opens one up to endless possibilities that present themselves. The liberal education movement continues to evolve worldwide as a means of promoting teamwork and collaboration on a global scale. This funnels into society to foster a consensus that promotes tolerance of all cultures, customs, and religions. Ideas are shaped not by law but rather, by one’s own thinking. This encourages acceptance and inclusion on a global scale for the good of mankind and the world as a whole.
This has had an impact in my own life. As I pursue my education, I am open to the differences of my peers. I accept them for who they are. I am given invaluable opportunities to grow and learn on a global scale without limitations. I feel my contribution to the presentation mirrors that of the purposes being advanced for the good of mankind globally. If I could have done anything differently it might have been to elaborate more so on the need for increased technological advances as this is now the way of the world. It will continue to be the core component by which we learn, grow, interact, connect, and live among one another.
