My presentation was well received and a success. Overall, I feel the objectives and goals of the exercise were met since I managed to engage my instructor as well as the class. Within the two minutes of my presentation, I was able to cover all the areas of my thoroughly researched work. I achieved this by briefly emphasizing the main points and key ideas of my story. Going by the old axiom that says “Tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them.”, I made sure of repeating and summarizing. My presentation was very memorable and motivating. In addition, the information presented was valid, thoroughly checked, accurate and not misleading. Lastly, the use of storytelling in the presentation made the information flow smooth and completely.
I believe that the overall presentation was good even though I was able to identify certain areas and features that need improvement. The feedback I received from my instructor identified my pauses several times and using a lot of ummm as the primary issues in my presentation. Also, the other feedback from my class mate suggested that I was nervous during the presentation.
Overall, I am content with my presentation, handling various tasks, researching information and assembling the presentation. As for other strengths, I was loud, but clear in my speech and audible for all audience. Lastly, the use of body gestures and body language made most of my audience enjoy the presentation. In the future, I would like to work improve on my weaknesses, keep eye contact with the audience, project confidence during presentation and be aware of time. All these steps will make my presentation superb and make the audience remember most, if not all, the information in presentations.
