Introduction

This training evaluation plan describes the methods that will be used for measuring the effectiveness of the training provided to the Malawi Technology employees with regards to the use of the new forklift and cultivation machines, as well as the new supercomputer, that the company purchased to improve the company’s efficiency and productivity.
In particular, the training will involve classroom lessons as well as on-the-job training. By evaluating these training programs, it is ensured that the training programs comply with and are able to close specific competency gaps within the organization (Management Study Guide, 2013). It also ensures that the training programs enable the employees to develop new skills, improve their behavior and attitude, and improve the work quality within a certain budget. In addition, it provides the trainer with feedback on the entire training process, in turn enabling them to understand the weaknesses of the program and make the necessary changes. As well, it helps managers determine the skill and knowledge levels of the employees, which help them delegate tasks appropriately (“Purpose and benefits of Training Evaluation,” n.d.).

Evaluation Plan for the Classroom Lessons

The training program will involve three hours of classroom training every week for one month. To evaluate the employees’ learning, the trainer would ask review questions before and after each session to refresh the trainees’ minds and to ensure the retention of their learning. The areas that the trainees seem to have a difficulty recalling or understanding are the areas that the trainer should focus more on.
At the end of the month-long training, a written test will be given to the employees where the passing score would be a score of 18 out of 35. A failure to pass the test will require the employee to undergo the training again and retake the test.

Evaluation Plan for the On-the-Job Training Program
With multiple trainees undergoing the on-the-job training program and with limited equipment on which to train on, the employees’ individual evaluation will be scheduled. For example, while some are undergoing the classroom trainings, the others will be participating in the on-the-job training program where they are able to see demonstrations of how to operate the machines and where they are able to try operating the machines themselves.

The on-the-job-training program will last for three months.

Forklift Test
Lift and move some materials from one place to another
Cultivation Machine Test
Make a harvest.
Supercomputer Test
Generate an inventory report.
Generate a sales report.
Final Evaluation
For the final evaluation, the employee’s immediate supervisor will take a look at the test scores from the classroom training and take note of any feedback received from the classroom trainer. These results will be combined with feedback from the on-the-job-training in order for the supervisor to come up with a final evaluation. Based on these final results, the employee will either become a regular employee, will be retrained, or will be terminated. In particular, a trainee who obtains average to excellent results will be regularized. An employee with below average results may be considered for retraining while an employee with poor results will be terminated.
