Young at Heart is essentially a chorus based in Northampton, Massachusetts with about 24 members who are aged about eighty years. The chorus is directed by a young man by the name Bob Gilman, who is fifty three years of age. The chorus was established by bob in the year 1982 whereby they started their long walk with the performance of vaudeville songs. However, after performing "Do-Wah-Diddy" by Manfred Mann's to great flourish, they have from that time almost solely performed rock, pop, R&B besides even alternative such as punk songs and heavy metal (Douglas, 2007). The musical sense of taste, of the chorus members largely leans to the classical, but then they adore the vigor of the group plus the reception they receive after performing these up-to-date songs. Stephen Walker a film director decides to travel with the chorus to Northampton to showcase their performance in the year 2006 (New Dimension Films 2007).
Bob is presenting a new range for this spectacle. He basically discerns what the likes and dislikes of his group at the start of the tryout period, but expects all the songs will turn out to be one of the favorites as soon as they are perfected (Moody, 2006). Achieving the songs as well as their resulting enclosure in the show essentially are not an assurance, as selected distinct songs fail to progress well. For this performance, Bob is eager that two previous chorus associates will reappear to do a duet, after they left as a result of health glitches. However, as Stephen trails the chorus, and to a local prison projected to host their "Alive and Well" program test, he discovers that health has turned out to be a built-in worry in the group as a result of their age. He also discovers that music, singing in addition to being a member of this group may turn out to be an astonishing panacea for these health apprehensions (Sinatra 2008). Eventually, the group endorses "the show must go on" attitude, despite the fact that some fail to make it to the show.
