Part 1: The community partner for program planning and evaluation project is called La Brisa. La Brisa is a small business that is experiencing significant growth due to increasing sales of fruits products. Appropriate evaluation is useful for any program irrespective of its size, nature and duration (McKenzie et al., 2009). Program evaluation helps to assess and improve quality of programs. It also helps to determine the overall effectiveness of a program. An evaluation of the health promotion program for this community partner takes cognizance of the evaluation framework. The framework of evaluation involves stakeholder engagement, program description, evaluation design, credible evidence, justifying conclusions and using and sharing the lessons (McKenzie et al., 2009). The health promotion program has identified the various stakeholders needed for the success of the program.
Part 2: Justification
An evaluation component should be included in this program plan since it helps to assess the effectiveness of the program. The three types of evaluation needed for this program include process evaluation, impact evaluation and outcome evaluation. Process evaluation is done during implementation of program activities with the purpose of improving the quality of delivery (McKenzie et al., 2009). The health promotion program needs this evaluation to enhance control and assurance that program performance will be successful. This evaluation helps to identify weaknesses during the initial stages of program implementation. Impact evaluation concerns the observable effects of a program. Assessing the impact of this health promotion program is important since it helps to recognize both positive and negative impacts it may have on the health and safety of employees at La Brisa. Outcome (summative) evaluation measures the ultimate goal of a program. This program requires outcome evaluation to assess the overall resulting impact at the completion of program implementation.
