Each and every year, Shelter Network, that changed its name to InnVision Shelter Network after a merger, serves above 3, 000 adult people and children. It also provides 120,000 nights of shelter to the homeless individuals. In this spirit, all the programs that Shelter Network carries out are designed for the help of those families and individuals that lack homes. It has been proven beyond doubt that above 80% of the families and adults who are single; do return to permanent housing after completing the transition program of Shelter Network
The organization does offer volunteer opportunities in fields such as advocate and community education, volunteer directly with clients, shelter improvement, volunteer with shelter children among others. The mission statement of Shelter Network is, InnVision Shelter Network is committed to providing housing and support services that create opportunities for homeless families and individuals of San Mateo County to re-establish self-sufficiency and to return to permanent homes of their own.
As already mentioned, the organization was established in 1987 to perform activities such as meeting needs of the homeless families and individuals on the San Francisco Peninsula. It also engages in ensuring that it provides housing and other supportive services to single adults and families of San Mateo County to establish afresh self-sufficiency and hence return to permanent homes of their own. Primarily, the nonprofit organization primary role is ensuring that these people are offered shelter and after a particular period graduate into their homes.
Although the non-profit organization has a lot of challenges soliciting for funding, it tries various ways possible to source for them. Funding is a crucial factor in the organization basing in mind that it is a not for profit. Otherwise, it would have sustained itself on its own. The sources of funds for the organization are being advanced loans or program-related investments, getting grants and contracts from the government, from individual donations and sometimes significant gifts from prominent personalities. Additionally shelter network also receives funding from fees from goods and services they offer to other people and from foundation grants. These are the common sources of income to the nonprofit and do help it so much. There was sometime in the early 2000s when the nonprofit operated on debts until they were cleared later.
There is an excellent relationship that occurs between the nonprofit activities, the money it produces and its mission statement. The mission statement talks of how the organization is committed to fulfilling the needs of the homeless families and single adults. Due to this, the nonprofit uses its money to ensure it has created mechanisms responsible for settlement of these people. This, therefore, ensures the fulfillment of mission statement.
The work of Shelter Network facilitates public interest in such a way that it ensures proper utilization of its income. Additionally, Shelter Network is an equal opportunity employer that employs people in various fields within it. This provides income for the parties. The proper utilization of the funds improves the nonprofit’s integrity. Additionally, it offers a solution to the homeless lacking shelter hence enhancing the belief of the public in them.

Various donors, government, and other agencies have put various mechanisms in place to ensure that the mission of the nonprofit is fulfilled.
