Good Example Of An Inspiring Person Essay

Some people are born great and some achieve greatness through their determination and deeds. Difficulties do not stop achievers from achieving their goals and they face every problem with patience in their life. Such people inspire others to do well in their life. I am inspired by my friend’s uncle, Karl Fernando who has done tremendous jobs for rag picker children of Kenya. He is very down to earth man who does not like much publicity, but believes in working for the betterment of people.
Uncle Fernando’s parents were very poor and he did not get a good upbringing in his childhood. He faced various hardships and failures in his life. He is not even amply educated because of his poverty. He started working in early childhood for bread and butter because his father passed away in a mine accident, where he used to work as a laborer. This was the first turning point that changed Karl’s outlook towards life. Karl started working as a hawker and took care of his mother. His earning was low and liabilities were huge, but he never succumbed to difficulties of his life.
When he started making decent earnings and opened his own printing press, he decided to work for rag pickers and deprived children who were unable to pursue their study due to lack of resources. It was a difficult task as he faced threats from goons. There were several local gangs who used to use these children for begging and for other disparaging purposes. Initially parents of these children also hesitated to believe on an estrange helper but gradually they realized that he is a nice man and his intentions are purely to help.
Once Karl was attacked by local goons and his press was ransacked. This was the second turning point in my uncle’s life as he became stronger and determined. My uncle was disheartened as local Police and local affluent people could not provide much help that was required. My uncle decided to take the help of a local reputed NGO. After intervention of NGO he got response from police and some other groups. All of them appreciated his courage and purpose. They pressurized some business groups to provide all the necessary help and convinced them that his deeds are for the betterment of the society.
Karl uncle is a courageous man who believe in fighting against odds. He is determined to help deprived children at any cost. He wants every children to study and do well in his or her life. He visited various parts of the Kenya and encouraged poor children to study. Irrespective of economic sacristies, he tries to provide all the help to deprived children. His personal life is affected due to his determination, and his health is also affected after he was attacked, but nothing deviates or stops him from his goal.
Karl may not be a famous personality in Kenya or other parts of the world, but he is certainly an inspiring figure. He has improved lives of several children and inspired them. He has opened a small school where he provides free education to poor children. He does not charge them even for food and other necessities and accepts donations from people who happily extend their help for the noble cause. For me, he is an inspiring person, and I believe the world need more inspiring people like him.
