Good Example Of Breastfeeding Creative Writing

Breastfeeding is an essential and basic need for an infant in the first six months after the delivery. Breastfeeding provide the baby with the basic nutrition for growth and development of IQ and other major organs in the body. The mother’s milk contains the nutrients, vitamins and disease mechanism (immune) that protects and fights any illness exposed to the baby. Breastfeeding protect the baby from a variety of illnesses such as the diabetes type 1, stomach viruses, respiratory infections, obesity, meningitis, ear infections, and decrease vulnerability of the baby from a numbers of allergies and cancer (HowStuffWorks, 2015). It also reduces the cost of purchasing infant formula milk. Additionally, breast feeding enhances emotional connection between the mother and the baby. Furthermore, breastfeeding reduce depression, reduce body weight and decrease the risk of breast cancer on the mother.
When the mother is reluctant to breastfeed the baby, the registered nurse should try to find out the reasons behind the reluctance. If the mother is reluctant to breastfeed due to ignorance or she is a new mother and she does know how to breastfeed effectively, then the nurse should educate the mother on breastfeeding. The education should emphasize the importance and necessity of breastfeeding base on the benefits the baby and mother stand to gain from the practice (Womenshealth.gov, 2014). On the case of a new mother, the nurse should educate the mother on how to go about breastfeeding. This will touch on how to keep the breast clean, the position to place the baby while breastfeeding and the kind of diet and nutrition the mother should maintain during breastfeeding period.
On the other hand, the mother maybe reluctant to breastfeed due to illness such as HIV/AIDS or occupation reasons which keep the mother away from the baby for a better part of the day. Thus, the nurse should recommend formula milk for the baby. The nurse should educate the mother on how to feed the baby using formula milk at each stage of baby’s life. Additionally, the nurse should inform the mother on what nutrients to check on the formula milk before she buys the infant formula milk from the market (Wilde et al., 2012).

American Academy of Pediatrics

This a professional organization which is involved in community projects which promote and support programs on breastfeeding. The organization holds conferences and seminars where it educates families on the importance of breastfeeding. Parents are also welcome at their offices in different parts of the country to get materials on breastfeeding.

Monroe Community Breastfeeding Resources

This is a community program in Monroe County which provides breastfeeding resources such as breast pumps and supplemental food for free. The program provides the public with education materials touching breastfeeding and how to take care of the baby. Additionally, the volunteers and experts in this organization make home visit and educate families about breastfeeding at their own homes.

UCSF Women's Health Resource Center

This is a community resource in San Francisco where it offers health education to women together with their families concerning pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. This initiative train and prepare women on how to take care of the baby after delivery.
