Form
The time that I attribute a hip-hop dance is when I attended an overnight club with my friends. This type of music, as I learned is unique and invokes its own language, music, dance style and wardrobe styles respectively. Dancing hip-hop requires a closer integration of the body parts in order to invoke the right moves and meaning to the song. The dance complements the social and cultural background of the song, and as such the moves must perfectly complement the song and its historical artifacts. The first element of this dance involves popping, which includes a quick contraction and relaxation of the body muscles, and rhythmic jerks in the entire body. The jerks experienced at various moves leads to pops or hits as attributed to the hip-hop music. Other than popping, dancing hip-hops involves an element referred to as locking. This element often integrates a performance of a series of locking movements into another position, while holding the last position for a few seconds. This style causes the hips and the legs to relax, while generating exact and distinct movements in the arms and hands. These movements are usually big and highly coordinated with the beats and rhythm of the music. The first time that I interacted with hip-hop dance was at a dance hall, where individuals were displaying their talents and prowess in various dance types. I fell in love with the hip-hop dances and music which signified rich historical background of the American society. Later, I gained interest and joined a dance school where I would be exposed to the variety of the dance moves. My instructors taught me a great deal of moves, ad one thing that recall about the initial lessons was how to pop and break. It was such a hard expedience, but I enjoyed it the more I attended the dance school. However, I advanced my moves by attending frequent practices and concerts with my colleagues. In addition, the moves I learned from the TV equipped me with skills and prowess as a hip hop dancer. Considering popping as the first move, I found it hard relaxing and contracting my muscles to the rhythm of the song, but later coped with the style nd had the necessary prowess to become an astute hip-hop dancer. Clash and battle dances were very tricky at the start, and in many occasions I would destroy the patterns set by the dance crew. I later learned that patterning with the rest was just a matter of practice before I could acquire the necessary excellence and prowess in this type of dance.

Hip-hop, also known as street dancing is a dance style strongly associated with the American traditional dance that was used to create choreography. This is thus, an improvised dance competition between two sets of crew dancers. The crew members are arranged in a line pattern that keeps changing, depending on the rhythm and associated moves. One would wonder how two different crews are able to interchange among themselves without an actual clash.
