Good Example Of Essay On Planes Without Pilots
Technology is indeed becoming important and significant in the handling of many operations. The article, in its point that pilots should be replaced by robots is interesting. It will be interesting to have such machine pilots but there are many questions that will come up as a result of the development. One issue of concern is the trust from the passengers. Will there be trust to board an aircraft which is operated by machines? People tend to trust situations where they are being served and directed by other people. Having machine pilots will lead to loss of trust and confidence of the passengers on the safety of the airplane.
Also of concern is the security of the sensors. With cyber-attacks and intrusion to computer systems and computer networks, such aircrafts will cause disaster if their operating systems will be hijacked by attackers. If any attacker will get hold of the system and the operating machine of the airplane, the airplane will be controlled and will be at the compromise of the attackers. The attackers will control the plane the way they would like. Apart from security where attackers can get to planes, the robots will not be able to understand what is happening in a place. What will happen if after the plane has taken off and there is a problem at the destination? Will the robot be able to sense this danger? These are the issues that need to be taken into consideration and have means of ensuring that there is an understanding of the environment and the logistics of operations. There is the issue of machine breakdown and failure to operate. Machines tend to break down from time to time. These are the issues that will affect the working and operation of the robots.
