The sources of conflicts in the firm may arise from team members, departments, organization, clients, and seniors and subordinates. The paper will cover the control function techniques adopted by managers to mitigate stress and conflict to bring change within the organization.
Control function techniques provide managers with adequate information to reassess and monitor performance of different departments of the firm. Each section adopts its’ own technique which is presented in the form of a status, financial or project report. Several control function techniques have been adopted by managers to improve the effectiveness, productivity and efficiency of the company. Budgetary control assists the stakeholders of the company to determine expenses to be incurred as well as revenues to be accrued by the company in question during a certain year. Budgetary control plays a role as a both as a planning and control tool. Marketing controls help to identify the level of progress in customer satisfaction for a product, service or delivery. Test marketing, conducting marketing research, and evaluating marketing statistics are examples of marketing controls adopted by firms.
Organizing and control techniques are the main basic process of managing stress, control function, conflicts, and change. Stress is any physical, chemical or emotional aspect that results in the mental disorder Management of stress is an attainable goal than can be realized by a number of strategies. People with fewer social relationships are more vulnerable to stress than people with more social relationships. When managing stress, it is essential to take care of how one is spending time and energy so as to efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Additionally, control the surrounding by controlling who and what is besieging someone. Research by health professionals regards relaxing which involves taking breaks with their families, sleeping or listening to music reduces the level of stress in the organization. Furthermore, exercising which involves walking along the roads, jogging in the field, and swimming in swimming pools relieves stress emanating from their relationships with their colleagues. However, “those individuals who lack the comfort of another human being may very well lack one of nature’s most powerful antidotes to stress” (Maravelas 206). Therefore, it is significant to enhance the relationship between workers to reduce stress.
Conflicts refer to situations where parties’ needs and wants, goals or values interfere with one another. Different people around the firms may have their desired conflicts to be accomplished. However, in the case of conflict management; the aftermath is more opportunities for improvement. Due to the conflict becoming a common issue in firms these days, several strategies have been implemented to cope with conflicts (Maravelas 22). Collaborating with the parties may resolve a conflict through bringing mutual benefit to both parties. It can be achieved by investigating the underlying concerns of the foes and finding another solution which meets each party’s worries. This technique may be effective when there is a high level of faith among the opponents. The results are solution of the actual outcome and bonding of mutual trust and respect among the parties involved. Smoothing is another important management technique in the workplace because it gives a chance to reassess the circumstance from a different perspective.
