Robin and Marian (1976)
As one of many, this film “Robin and Marian” was based on the legends of Robin Hood. Many filmmakers have been inspired by this story, and the audience has always been interested to watch the adventures of Robin and his team.
One of the saddest, caustic and ironic stories that only can be removed or even think of. It is not that "there is no sadder story in the world": it is not difficult to guess the final retouched, appeased by the tone of the narrative, unhurried, thorough, even almost drowsy.
This is the story of the famous Robin Hood, which is known by everybody. He was in the Crusades with his king Richard the Lionheart. It's time to go home, all were tired and significantly grown old. After the king dies at the hands of Robin, he decides to return to Sherwood Forest. There he learns from his friends, his beloved, Marian, became a nun and now in the Abbey. Robin said that over the years the campaign, he had not thought of the Marian, but still can not resist not to go to her. Marian meets him cold enough, and even tries to go with sheriff who came to arrest her. But then it turns out that she still loves Robin. Since Robin Hood was unwelcome to the kingdom, as it was considered a symbol of rebellion, the sheriff of Nottingham, decided to kill Robin. After a spectacular fight, the sheriff was killed and Robin was seriously injured. His friends were always with him, and this time Marian asks to deliver Robin to the Abbey, where she stashed medicine. When lovers are together, Marian drinking poison and gives it to Robin. This is a very tragic end for both. Robin's last will was that Johnny had buried two of them where last fall, Robin released the arrow.
The whole movie was quite hard to watch. It was strange to see the hero Robin old, haggard. And when Robin died poisoned, it was clear that neither the audience nor the hero, expected such an end. But, apparently, it was easier for both.
It is not surprising that the film was so heavy. After a certain Internet search, I found that 1976 was quite challenging for the world. It was a year when there was a world famous cosmic phenomenon as the "parade of planets." Astrologers have always said that this year has to be very difficult for the world. In 1976, in different countries many planes crashes, aircraft or could not sit down because of the weather conditions and crashed, all crew members died, or plane could not take off and almost all died. After reading the news, I discovered that this was happening in many countries. Just stand out news that in many countries were powerful earthquake and, as a result, many victims. Were different mass riots, rallies, the revolutions. The Soviet Union conducted an underground nuclear test. In 1976, the boarding bay spacecraft “Viking 1” (USA) made a soft landing on the Martian surface.
As in many works of literature or film art, we can find echoes of the past or present events. I think, that in this film was some focus on the decisions of the government. There are always people objectionable to the government. Leaders who were chosen by people for real actions. The ruler of the country was always profitable, as he should lead the people. And always such people were persecuted, always accused of treason and often died under mysterious circumstances. Almost the same as happened to Robin. I believe, there was hidden text for the nation, and it was “ Always follow your governor (king), or you will be severely punished
