Demolition and construction waste (excluding extremely dangerous and highly dangerous) represent a kind of waste generated during demolition, repair, reconstruction, disassembly or construction of buildings and structures, as well as communications of engineering purpose of civil and industrial objects combined into one group (Wang et al., 2004).
The project of environmental documentation regarding the regulations on construction, reconstruction, repair, demolition, disassembly of buildings and structures, as well as communications of engineering purpose of civil and industrial projects should be developed for each of the objects in the generation of waste separately (Mutch Jr and Mahony, 2008). For further development and improvement of schemes accounting for treatment of construction and demolition wastes, regulation defines the quantitative performance, storage conditions, and further movement of wastes.
It is necessary to take into account that the amount of such wastes is constantly increasing, as all around the world there are constructed and reconstructed, as well as demolished numerous buildings that result in an increasing amount of wastes (Dyer, 2012). In order to decrease the resulting harm to the ecology, it is necessary to find effective ways to use these wastes for the building purposes so as not to lose the valuable materials and not to generate additional amounts of garbage. This kind of waste can become one of the responsible building materials that are currently actively introduced into the building practice all around the world.
Responsible building materials represent such construction materials that bring minimal harm to the ecology and can be further reused when they become unnecessary or their initial quality deteriorates with time. This kind of materials represent a great opportunity to save our planet from increasing amount of garbage and those materials that pose a real danger to ecology all around the world.
