The aim of AHRQ is to provide evidence and statistics which touch on the health care status in the United State. The objective of this agency is to make sure the quality, safety and accessibility of the health care service are improved. Additionally the organization collaborates with other health institutions (profit and non profit) and government agency to make sure health services are accessible and affordable (AHRQ, 2015).
One of the main objectives of the agency is making sure the children under the age of 21 have access to quality and safe health care around the United State. This is achieved by collaborating with other agency such as the Medicaid and Medicare centers by making sure the provisions of the Children Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act are implemented to the letter (CHIPRA, 2009). The organization aims at reaching out to over 45 million children under the Medicaid and CHIP programs. Furthermore, the organization with various healthcare providers, Medicaid and CHIP share information through electronic health records to improve quality of health services and address the needs of children who need special care throughout the country. The electronic data are used to assess and manage the overall health care quality in the United State.
The organization advocates for evidence based diagnosis and treatment of patient. The family of members or guardians of the children are involved in the treatment of the children and management of the patient (child) after discharge from the hospital. The family members provide information where the child cannot be able to provide necessary and adequate information concerning their health. The agency and its partners make sure the health practitioners who have attended the child are involved in the follow up exercise. This is to prevent readmission. The agency also collaborate with other organization to provide counseling and advice to adolescent children concerning substance abuse and sexual activities as prevention measure to early pregnancy, STI and other illness associated with substance abuse and sexual activities (AHRQ, 2015). The major outcomes which the organization aims to achieve are reduction in the number of illness, improve level family awareness concerning health matters and improve the accessibility of the health care to all children in the United State.
