Politics and Government: Partriocracy
The movie Partriocracy can be regarded as a timely film that has sought to answer some of the questions regarding the political atmosphere of Washington DC and the United States at large. It has been used to portray an angry political environment that is broken and gridlocked. Partriocracy successfully explores the active and extreme polarization of United States that has then crippled the nation, barring her from tackling some of her most notable problems. Some of the challenges facing the US government as portrayed in this movie include; national debt that is huge, the hectic healthcare reforms, illegal immigration and the antiterrorism fight. Instead of listening to each other, the Americans are left hailing shouts at each other “We are in deep trouble, and the reason we are in trouble is because people don’t talk to each other, they talk to each other.” To some extent, the citizens are expressing dissatisfaction with how the government is being run (Mercer, 1).
The movie has elaborately drilled into and illustrated the underlying forces that are influencing the main grounds in the American soil. Additionally, the movie has also tried to establish possible solutions that could help mitigate such influential forces. The environment of the film shows how the Americans are living with a lot of anger and political polarization. In the crossfire, there are some loud voices that are heard. These voices bring out the facts and reasons for their anxiety. The movie touches on the political hoodwinking that forms the main agenda of most of the politicians. As the American were approaching the 2012 elections, a lot of money were spent to lobby the voters both by fear and emotions. The lobbying process caught up some of the corporations who came in to protect their interests by splashing millions of dollars during the campaign, something that totally disgusts Rep Bart Stupak.
In conclusion, the current political climate of the US leaves some questions such as how we got there and how we will get out unanswered. With the current lobbying that is at its peak, it may take forever to change the political climate, hence filling the puzzle.
