Good Example Of Progress Report 1 Report

Introduction

The target organization for my capstone project is Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics, a subsidiary of Samsung Corporation, is a major player in the consumer electronics, home appliances, and telecommunication equipment and semiconductor industries. My capstone project will entail the preparation of a comprehensive report aimed at the improvement of the performance of the target organization, Samsung Electronics. Consequently, my research will be provided at a high-level (i.e. general) and focus on areas including: management, time management, quality management, cost management, and risk management. The report will make recommendations on necessary actions in order to improve performance in the specific focus areas covered.

Work Completed

Until this point, I have completed various elements of the deliverables in this capstone project. One of the milestones that I have covered is the project summary. The summary contains many elements, one of which is the introduction to the capstone project. This section highlights the organization upon which the capstone project and also the scope of the project. The summary of the capstone project also highlights the background of the organization as well as the rationale for the project. As part of this milestone, I have also prepared the SWOT analysis of Samsung, the organization.
This element of the capstone summary is important in highlight the various element of their business operations as the influence the successes and failures of the organization. I have also prepared the project outcomes as part of the capstone summary. This element of the capstone project is important in painting the bigger picture thereby helping me stay focused. I have also prepared the recommendations for the organization based in the prospective findings of the project.

Work Missed

It was my plan to have completed the draft of the capstone by the end of this week. I have failed to meet this objective. I have only been able to perform background research into the organization. This involves research on the operations of the organization. However, I have failed to get into the specific information of the organizations, especially as it relates to the management, time management, quality management, cost management, and risk management at the organizations. This forms an integral part of the draft to the capstone project. I had also intended on locating all the references that I will use in preparing the capstone project. This is an objective that I have not achieved at this point as expected. Where my target was the twenty references that are required for the capstone project, I have only located seven references.

Work to Complete

One of the elements that I have to complete is specific research on management, time management, quality management, cost management, and risk management as it relates to Samsung. This will also help me compete on one of the other pending parts of the capstone project; locating the references. Through the research into the management, time management, quality management, cost management, and risk management as it relates to the organization, I will locate the references from which the draft of the capstone project will be developed.

Conclusion

The capstone project will add to my analytical skills toward focusing on a real organization, facing real issues, and evaluation and determination of real solutions. I have made some progress in the capstone project, even though some work is not complete. In the coming days, I will dedicate all my efforts into finishing the draft for submission.
