Good Example Of Putting Message Together Essay

Effective communication is one of the key aspects in any message relay and any form of preaching in delivering the word of God to the congregation. In any form of preaching, expository preaching, most of the congregation will almost doze off if the message relay is not in order and sequential. According to Haddon Robinson, there are specific steps needed and followed in making an effective communication in any form of preaching for the sermon to be used by God to spark a long waited revival within the congregation. These steps in the process of preaching and preparing expository preaching when followed by the latter will help anybody in delivering effective communication and sermon. The main and the initial step in well delivery of the message is knowing The Big Idea. It is the main topic of the message to be delivered. The topic or the big idea should be precise and not all the subtopics under the main idea should be in buckshot, but all should be in bullets. In terms of the sermon, the central, and dominant theme of the message should be well expounded and illustrated in order to keep the speaker online and not to be irrelevant at any point. There is no message for delivery unless the central theme is expressed in a clear pregnant sentence and at the same time, it should be short. A good delivery of the message must bring all subject of the main idea together of the text to be delivered. These main ideas help in supporting and developing the main subject (Stanley and Jone 45).At the same time, the delivery of the message after having the main goal of the message, should consider all parts and relate all the parts of the of the message together. The linking of different parts of the message will aid in the determining the development and exegetical ideas within the talk. At the same time, the language used, as another step, should be simple, clear, and contemporary. It will help the speaker to talk about one idea at a time supported and shaped by major points as compared to when the speaker combines several ideas in one message. Determining the purpose of the sermon, being another step, is also key to the preacher. The main purpose of the message in most cases is ill-defined, and most of the preachers do believe that all the sermons are focused on the explanation and presentation of the text believing that the actual application is left for the Holy Spirit to perform. The preachers are therefore challenged to answer the question “so what?” and for the reason the listeners will not be able to comprehend what the preacher is talking about if the preacher himself cannot comprehend it well (Haddon 34). The choice of words used by the preacher is also key to any message delivery. The words should be so artful just as the poets do it. When the words are well phrased, there will be imagery formed in the minds of the audience, and this will make them so lively and appreciate the message. Every audience has a desire to form pictures in the mind in synthesis of the message and, for this reason; the choice of words by the preacher will play a major role. In addition, in the spoken communication when the mind is distracted, then it is a lost mind unlike in the books where the reader can pause, appreciate the attractiveness of the communication before continuing with the reading.
