Nowadays there are lot of issue which may affect the engineering profession. One of the most common issues is the lack of popularity. Many students prefer other well-paid popular professions such as doctor or lawyer. Engineering professions is one of the most highly needed professions in 20th century. We all know that engineering is not an easy job, but have you ever considered, what issues you are going to meet, when you chose this profession. We all know, that as the time flows, technologies develop more and more and every company wants their employees to work fast and do high quality work. This is when the real struggle in this profession comes. When you go out of university, and seek for a job the companies won’t higher you. If you ask yourself why, you won’t find an answer because it makes no sense. This companies want you to have experience in engineering after university. But how can you get that experience if no one gives you a job? This is one of those frustrating issue that may affect your profession. Education can also play a huge role and can be regarded as an issue. University can give you lots of theories, which you can learn, but what can you do, when you had never seen any practices. Nowadays young engineers are expected to work as fast as possible. And the only explanation to this is – shrinking budgets. Many companies don’t care if you are getting knowledge or any experience by doing this work, which can bring better results in future. The only thing they care about is how fast you can do certain part of the job. If we take close look at it, we can realize that many engineers do rush to get their work done fast only to meet the budget or get work done in time, prior a deadline. These rushes typically bring a negative affect – the theory is usually left behind. If you ask yourself, what these engineers going to face if they won’t access computer programs, how will it affect their lives? Working on the computer all the time, brings you to a point, where you will not be able to answer a simple question about simple calculations. These all might happen if you do any type of analysis on the computer, without actually getting into it. The other problems that young engineers can face is based on personal qualities. According to Ir. Dr. Lee (Platinum award winner), one of the biggest areas that young engineers need to improve involves the procurement of “soft skills” such as person interactions, communications and presentation skills. Creativity and innovative skills is also a part of engineering profession. These relationship building skills may greatly augment marketing aptitude. The other great thing to point out, that young engineers should be stimulated to contribute in different exchange programs, as they can develop such thing as personal viewpoint and upsurge their experience to best performs.
