Good Example Of Report On Mclean Services Contractor Dyncorp International
DynCorp International Inc. has been providing maintenance support for more than 50 years to United States military. The company is based in Reston, Va. It is among top 25 contractors working with federal government. Through subsidiaries, the company has been providing defense as well as the technical services.
DynCorp is planning to retrench about 380 employees in March 2015 following the decision by Navy to change their contractor from DynCorp (O'Meara, 2002). Cerberus Capital Management LP -- a private equity group acquired DynCorp in 2010. DynCorp has been providing the ground support equipment and services to the Navy aircrafts. Currently, the company is working under a contract worth $27 billion awarded in November 2013. The company has been providing aircrafts maintenance services to the Navy under consecutive contracts over a period of 35 years.
The company lost a contract (Field Team program) valued $10 billion. The contract was to provide service to the U.S. Air Force. Therefore, the company is planning to close down Solomon’s headquarters including twelve other sites of work where they had settled by March 4, 2015 laying down almost 400 employees. The company has been struggling to find a stable ground and the contract with Navy has been providing support to the company for more than three decades. Losing such contract may cause the company to face difficult times.
According to Aitoro, (2015), DynCorp forecasted a drop in revenue from $4.3 billion in 2013 to $2.3 billion in the year 2014. For the year 2015, the company has forecasted revenue of $1.7-1.9 billion. This will represent a 26 percent drop over a period of one year and a 60 percent drop over a period of two years. This information indicate that employees are likely to lose their jobs even after having wide experience in the field of maintenance of Air Force fleets.
