Question 1.
The feedback on the four materials is very useful in analyzing the different qualities, motives, attributes, values, preferences and personality among others on individuals. The feedback can thus, be used in determining one’s suitability in occupying various management roles. The MVPI feedback, for instance, provides a detailed report that can be used to evaluate one’s current career. A person’s rating on various aspects such as their liking for recognition, power, affiliation, tradition, security, and commerce amongst others, can be used to predict the possibility of their success in their current careers. Ms. Wang, for example, scores highly on recognition indicating that she can make a good team leader who is very social with her staff and who does not shy away from criticism.
The Hogan Personality Inventory feedback is also useful in evaluating personality qualities and how they are likely to affect one’s success at the place of work. It is crucial to revealing one's personality strengths and weaknesses. It evaluates a person's ambitiousness, sociability as well as affinity to learning amongst several others. Ms. Wang scores a zero on ambition indicating her possible indecisiveness in as far as development of her career is concerned.
The HBRI feedback is very crucial especially for those in management positions because it highlights one's ability to identify problems, understand them, and work out a suitable solution to the problem. HBRI, for this reason, measures one's ability to reason strategically and tactically. Reasoning strategically helps in identifying problems. The latter helps in solving the problems identified. The combination of the two gives rise to critical reasoning. The feedback on this is crucial in helping one to understand themselves and the approaches they can take to solve problems.
The feedback is actionable in the sense that, it can help an individual to rethink about his or her current career choice and consider changing it if it does not match their various qualities. People can also use the feedback to improve some of their personality traits and enhance their chances of success in the careers. The feedback is important for self-awareness. It enables one to know their strengths and weaknesses and be able to work with them to achieve his or her career goals.
The report is better when it comes as an attachment to an email or as a downloadable form. It is because it gives one the opportunity to go through it several times now and in the future and get to comprehend it properly. It also has the advantage of acting as a future reference point.
Question 2.
My character, when assessed using MVPI would suit this job based on the fact that I score highly on affiliation due to my liking for interaction between colleagues, aesthetics since I am creative and like to think beyond imaginary boundaries. I am also an altruistic person which is important in a job that deals with human resources. I consider myself a diligent person and thus, will be able to extract high-performance standards from both myself and those working under me in this position. The job described requires a person who is dutiful, who can reason critically, ambitious, prudent, one with excellent interpersonal skills amongst others. I score highly on all the above qualities. However, my weakness on the job would be my dislike for power that renders me uncompetitive. I also don't like recognition and always prefer to work unnoticed. These two are my weakest points yet quite crucial in succeeding in a human resource job.
