During the past weeks, I conducted research about the role of the developing world in global warming in terms of human activities. I looked for various sources in different forms about the topic and put together all information to determine what existing literature says about global warming and third world countries. Aside from describing the content of the articles, I also wrote an annotated bibliography, drafts, and eventually, the final draft of the paper.
I believe that I did well in discussing the research topic in depth and from different angles. I described global warming including its outcome, which is climate change. I also discussed the impact of global warming on communities. Aside from these points, I also compared the roles and contributions of both the developed and developing world in global warming and climate change.
I also did well in establishing a balanced perspective in the research. I pointed out the positive and negative roles of poor countries in global warming. Developing countries contribute to global warming due to greenhouse gas emissions. Nonetheless, developing countries may also play an important role in addressing the problem due to these countries’ goal or aim towards economic growth through infrastructure development. The latter could help developing countries construct facilities and mechanisms to reduce greenhouse gas emission and combat the effect of climate change.
On the other hand, I should have done better in collating articles or sources to support the discussion. I believe that I should have added more references in the research as well as presented more studies and scholarly discussions in the paper as a way to broaden its scope. I should have also mentioned more recommendations for developing countries, as well as the expected contributions of developed countries in the matter, so they could reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and help reduce global warming and climate change.
