Good Example Of Temple Grandin: The World Needs All Kinds Of Minds Report
Reflection
In my view, in this video Temple Grandin who’s got an autistic mind, very well explains how well and autistic child can grow and disregarding how different his brain works, what a useful and creative person he may become. She explains that autism has a wide range taken from the children that will have difficulties even for talking up to those who can become a genius, just like Einstein or Tesla. Therefore, the educational system must understand that they have to deal with kids who have issues using a verbal communication and the way they understand the world is in manner of pictures not words. So, these children need their own specific mentors who can show something interesting to them and can help such kids move and improve, just the same way she did it with the help of her science teacher. The world needs all different types of minds, it does not matter if it is autistic or regular, we must give everyone the chance to grow and participate in solving today’s worldwide problems.
Dan Gilbert: Why we make bad decisions
In this video, Dan Gilbert provides us with impressing reasons why we make wrong decisions. Our decisions are almost based on a simple formula, which is:
Expected Value = (Odds of Gain) x (Value of Gain)
At the same glance this seems to be very logical, however, Dan Gilbert shows that using this formula in everyday life can be pretty hard or even very rare. As there are other, factors that affect our judgment and can distract us from a proper usage of this simple logic. For example comparison. The fact that we always compare the value of something at the moment with it’s previous value, or in comparison with another thing. Alternatively, we can mention the effect of other factors on the feelings that we have, and these feelings can directly affect our decision making which may be complete illogical, and even against common sense.
