Various Options to Use Work Experiences for Employee Development
With a rise of globalization pressures and intense competition, it is necessary that every business should employ the most efficient and productive workforce. For this, it has become critical to make investments in human capital for further skill development. When different options to develop employee skills by using their work experiences are considered, a wide variety of choices could be considered. These consideration include options like promotion to a higher position, job rotation, transfer to another department or business unit, downward movement and sometimes, temporary assignment to foreign/host country as an expatriate. All of these options to benefit from work experience for employee development provide an opportunity to participating employees and managers to be able to handle/meet common challenges and prove their competencies .
Most Attractive Option and the Reason for It
With the emergence of global economy and marketplace, it is important that every employee must be well-versed in analyzing the worldwide opportunities. Every manager and employee must have a thorough understanding about the global business environment to target and serve more customers as well as create the stakeholder value.
In this view, working outside the home country and deployment as an expatriate, to execute business assignments in host countries, is one of the most attractive options for me to benefit from international job experience. This option is so much feasible for me to develop my professional skills through my exposure to worldwide business challenges because it will help me to develop a successful career in the global business leadership .
