Good Example Of What Is “Race”? Essay

Many people today believe that all mankind can be easily divided into biologically distinct races. Taking into consideration that there exist obvious physical differences between people, there arises such a question why some of them become the reason for social discrimination and persistent prejudices. Moreover, when it comes to defining what is meant under the concept “race” in such countries for example as the USA and Brazil, it turns out that the definitions are totally different.
There is no doubt that each time when it comes to racial segregation a problem of equality of the opportunities for all people arises. In order to overcome the problem of social inequality which is based on the racial segregation as well is to wipe out the difference of notions of what “race” means considering it exclusively from the biological point of view and not spreading it to other spheres which may ultimately cause unfair education and etc. Moreover, the best way to promote fair for all segments of the population would be to fix the rules legally with the aim to avoid thinking of “race” as one the main indicators of the inappropriateness. That is why the movement towards community schools influences my opinion greatly and I am convinced that the affirmative action should be should be dropped as the main criterion in university admissions in the US. It also proves the fact that nowadays “race” as the criterion of judgment directly affects the social inequality in general and can lead to negative consequences.
In this case, the concept of "race" is a socio-political and does not involve the separation of the population of biological and genetic characteristics.
In many countries, the relationship between the origin and opportunities in the education system matured over time and became more negative, because origin (whether the family has an average income or it is more prosperous) affects the chances to get a good education, become a highly qualified professional and subsequently get a high status in society
