1. What tools and techniques would you use to motivate your staff if you were the head of a nursing home? 
In a nursing home the patient care is the first priority, hence to motivate the staff in the right direction I would use the technologies like electronic sign-in machines or biometric finger scanner for attendance of the staff. That takes care of the punctuality and accountability of each staff member. Apart from that I would encourage the staff to have the outlook express set-up at every nurse station. Regular alerts and mails exchange regarding important patient’s health care and status of the patients can be helpful for the staff to give their best work. Apart from these tools, morally, I can be flexible regarding the shift timings and leaves department.
2. Would your tools and techniques differ if you were the head of a hospital?
Most of these tools and techniques were remain same if I were head of the hospital with a few improvement and advancements. In hospital management, I would install a server room with high end computer monitored systems for the patient monitoring. In ward and every bed I would install the computer screens so that nurses and doctors can update the vital statistics and advices directly on the screen. Every visiting consultant can also put their suggestions about the care of the patient. I would also put forward systems for cleansing and discipline of the hospital staff and premises. With professional HR team, I would make the hiring process scrutinized to the level that only the dedicated staff joins the team. Even after the joining, constant training and employee engagement programs, I would keep the staff motivated and updated.
3. Why do you think those tools and techniques would work or not work given your specific environment? 
As long as I imply the right technology for right purpose, I am sure these tools and ideas will yield good results. However, if the hospital environment, the situations migh become unstable and a few of the ideas might not work. In such scenarios I would come up with some modifications in the plan and start again until I achieve a good result.
