Good Language Of The Sacred Essay Example
Castles in the sand was written and performed by the Booth Brothers musical group. The song Castles in the sand describes shattered dreams that were based on fantasy and unreliable imaginations. The lyrics relate a wasted life on useless, unprofitable plans to prosper to a child building castles on beach sand. With the coming of the tide came the complete destruction of the structures the child cherished and treasured.
Although the word 'God' is mentioned in the song, the rest of the lyrics are not sacred. I do not consider them sacred because the lyrics depict a common story that everyone (both religious and non-religious, and members of other religions) can relate to them. They do not address the Almighty and Holy God or quote the scripture. However, they are inspiring and encouraging to a religious person. They focus on encouraging a person feeling hopeless and discouraged after failure or losing of something they treasured.
Religions' core prayers
The core prayers of a religion play a major role in identifying the faithful across various cultures, regions and backgrounds. Followers of a religion also maintain the culture of their ancient predecessors. This maintenance is crucial to ensuring that the interferences and evolving culture will not influence, affect and distort the course of the religion. They also help to unite the members of religion and maintain similarities and uniformity in the style of worship.
Over time, the prayers have distinguished and ensured boundaries among the major religious groups such as Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Other individual prayers the faithful make have evolved over time. Due to the interaction, different groups have influenced others and have accommodated some prayer designs. This influence is evident in communal multi-religious gatherings.
Basing on the song Castles in the Sand, my story is a typical example of the lyrics. Like in the song, I realized that I consumed most of my precious time on fantasies and dreams that may I never realize with the resources that I have. I learned the moral lesson of the lyrics and stopped some of my plans.
Unlike parables, these lyrics do not depict a fictional story with the sacred reality and Biblical meaning. Although, it captures the listeners attention with the exciting story of the sea-shore but does not include a puzzle or deeper meaning. It is, for this reason, neither a myth nor a parable.
