Leadership and Public Policy are two discipline area which works together, and one cannot do without the other. However, leadership is the art of instigating and encouraging group of persons to work with an aim of attaining the common set of goals. On the other hand, public policy is the principled regulations that determine the action taken by government or administrative official in a way that corresponds to the law and institutional customs. In addition, leadership and public policy greatly affect exploration of a career. For instance, pursuing a career in Engineering helps much in finding a solution to the societal problems as well as help in coming up with strategies to make the goals reality and achievable. However, the goals can only be attained with proper level of respect to the juniors, through application of superior technical skills, adopting reputable ethical behavior in all situations and also practicing proper dedication in community work, government services, religious groups as well as getting involved in the youth programs.
Leaders have a lot of responsibilities, for example, a leader must get determined in the coordination and training of the risk management program in order to promote the level of attaining the common set goals of an organization. However, leadership positive development depends on the good attitude that have positive effects on others, having the ability to stay calm and level headed, finding solutions to problems when need arises, proper time management and also meeting the work schedule. In addition, the achievement of a leader broadly focuses on how he can perceive the professions relating to the level of ethical behavior. The basis of ethical behavior is preserving trust, where an individual must act as though their action would become the general rule of the society, as per the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
The ethical behavior enhances integrity in the organization; hence with proper integrity in a company the quality assurance improves as it promotes the favorable working environment for all members involved. Thus, it increases the mobility of the organization which also pushes the level of profit making. However, a leader should be involved in the focus to attaining the common goals of a group, motivates other members and also ensure that all participate in the group’s activities. From the ethical perspective a leader should; develop a sense of professional pride, be loyal and follow ethical conducts of the organization to increase the level of profit- making, have a proper relationship with the clients or other members to promote the consistent ethical conduct of the group. In addition, a leader should demonstrate ethical behavior with regulatory agencies to boost the value of the organization to clients who seek the approval of the agencies to transform their projects.
The company or group should also ensure; proper maintenance of the ethical code in the working environment, provide rules and regulations governing the company, create the motivation measures to promote to productivity of the organization as well as maintains the four stages of relationship with the client; the offer adequate services, needs base to make the client recognize the work, proper relationship and the trust based on winning awards. However, when the leader disagrees with the response of the company he should maintain the good relationship with the company, contribute in the decision making as well as strive to achieve the common set goals, as well as application of the indirect marketing strategies .However, a leader must focus on quality as it is the result of doing the correct thing.
