Reinalso Laddaga carries a comprehensive comparative analysis of the artistic practices of our current and past time that do specifically share the staging of what some of us might call the creative process that in a way to imply their reading response . In the introduction to the book, she mention s a few artists the likes of W.G Sebald, Joan Didion, Pierre Pichon amongst others. In part of Reinalso Laddaga Book, she dialogues with other visual artists such as Sophie Calle, Mathew Barney, and Brauce Nauman in order to perfectly bring out their responses.
Reinalso Laddaga reveals that the artists hardly differentiated him or herself in the space in which they came to exist and in which they later reintegrated themselves. The artists were interested in anomalous amounts of collaborations especially in the areas of production of particular type that influence the inter-human relations and to an extent the imaginary exploration of the relations between the horizon and creatures that fell from out space.
Laddaga also speaks out on the artists that are prone to what he terms as “the effect to realize works than to design experiences. Laddaga summarizes the characteristics and traits of a large part of the most relevant parts of artists from the last few years .The summary includes their apparent instantaneity and imprecision, their amazing desire to introduce their inspiration and trance that will mutate their relations with the local into more cooperative practices in the future.
Laddaga also carefully examines strategies of collaborative production by artists, for instance his work by Cesar Aira, Mario Bellatin, Joao Gilberto, and many others. Through this works, Laddaga reveals and simulates a few traits of the Latin America artist, for instance their consciousness in writing, their scam as being as much experiences of reading as experiences of the read. Also importantly, Laddaga reveals that their works were performative which can be detected from titles of artists such as Victoria de Stefano, Agustin Fernandez, and Antonio mallow.
Laddaga also warns of the dangers that would destroy the authenticity of the various forms of arts that exist by artists. He warns of the experiences of the Neoconcretism that would later on unleash the destruction of art.He gives perfect examples with artists such as Lygia Clark and Hello Oiticica.
In summary Laddaga, reveals that artists have high expectations .Artists expect to reach viewers who consecrate themselves to the fulfillment of their role in the process with a devotion that some present day artists are unlikely to ever command. He emphasizes that artists from the past made sure that their paintings, sculptures and objects induced a specific form of ecstasy that we will never forget.
