The increasing pace of today’s businesses is attributed to change. The increase use of shareholder’s wealth left many of the finest organizations in the United States in total disarray particularly during the economic crisis. A lot of the biggest customers that signified minimal risk and necessitated a small amount of time to handle, consumed most of the energy left in every businesses. Many organizations declared bankruptcy.
Trident Search is a company situated in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. The company has been engaged in assisting in the expansion plans of a robust international freight forwarder, whose primary vision is to pursue and attract top talent in Victoria. At present, the company is looking for a general manager. As a change agent, the main focus will be on strategic management in order to obtain competitive advantage by way of optimizing the company’s internal sources while at the same time capturing external opportunities and preventing any form of external threats.
The primary task of the change agent is to establish the readiness level of the company for change (Burns, 2004). This includes assessment of areas such as strategic plan, group norms, trust, appraisals, and programs. A successful agent also determines the competences and skills essential to accomplish successful change. In Trident, one of the change events that the organization implemented is the realignment of roles of every employee. The company requires high caliber consultants that are chosen based on their intellectual and cultural alignment with the service strategy, relevant experience, and positive approach in rendering consultation. To fulfill such change, the company hired individuals with certain specialization in sales, procurement, and engineering operations. These consultants have the ability to understand trends in the market.
