Blackboard + Learn (Blackboard Site)

Introduction

Writing
Although the document write-up is good in terms of its presentation of an idea, use and choice of words and grammars, it can’t be called complete. Some sections of test strategy and plan are left incomplete and must be more elaborate. The references section is not proper and missing a proper citation style.

Format

The format of the document in the first half of the document is good. The abstract is provided; introduction and requirement overview is loaded with subsections. Stakeholders, business purpose, requirements are all well defined. Table of content is there, but it is not in a proper format, it lacks page numbers against the relevant headings. The references section is incomplete, and in-text citation is not provided. It must be understood that citation has a major role while creating a paper for presenting an idea or referring to someone else’s work. Lack of a proper citation might bring in a threat of plagiarism for the author. All sections and subsections must be according to the layout defined in the course syllabus.
The topic chosen is of high quality. It details about a process of software engineering that is highly regarded and is the most crucial for the completion and robustness of any software application. The objective is defined clearly and gives a fair idea about the chosen topic. Functional testing of the blackboard site is a very innovative and learning concept. I learned about the black box testing procedure. I came to know about the various scenarios for test plan, test strategy and test scenarios. I learned how to identify the stakeholders and create test plan keeping in mind the stakeholders and the requirements. The paper helped me learn mapping the functionality and the requirements. Overall, there is much to learn from this paper, and the author presents its topic in a subtle yet elaborate form. The sections of introduction and requirement overview have subsections and a very structured format with lots of knowledge material and information.
The only area that the author must work upon is the reference and citation section providing relevant acknowledgment for knowledge sources and presenting a proper citation style. An area that could be touched upon is the role of automated testing frameworks like selenium and the skill sets that should be required on the part of the testing team.

Length

The paper meets the page requirements. The initial sections are well defined with the right amount of content. The later sections that include the test plan and strategy section must be elaborated. The references section is incomplete.

Intellectual Content

The paper has a very intellectual topic covering upon functionality testing or black box testing that is the backbone of software development process. The choice of words, description, and method of explanation is very refined. The correlation of requirements and functionality exists. The paper touches upon all-important aspects of a site, which is business requirements, stakeholders, business purpose and functional requirements. There is a use of tables and figures for correlating the content and providing the information in a very presentable format. The excellent thing about the paper is the flow that it maintains in presenting the idea and presenting all aspects of testing including test plan, test strategy, and test results.
I liked reading the paper as it exposed me to a new information about black box testing. The concept of functionality testing and the methodology got clear with this paper. I learned how to relate requirements with functionality, role of stakeholders in testing and how to create a test strategy and test plan. I would like play a role in the execution of the test strategy for the blackboard site so I can also run the actual mechanism of a functionality testing.
