I am NAME SURNAME from California, USA. My intended major for NAME OF PROGRAM in NAME OF COLLEGE will be Sociology and health science.
Basically I am a Vietnamese immigrant, living in the USA for last 6 years. I became U.S citizen last year. I am 40 years old and a married man with an 8 year-old daughter. At present I am a senior student CSU Long Beach with double majors Sociology and health science.
Since my childhood I have always been motivated to good education as I belong to a well- educated family. During my study in high school I was more interested in Sociology and health science. Inclination to this subject was initiated from my willingness to know people in society and to help them. My fascination of this subject and my had work paid off when I have obtained 4.00 GPA last Fall semester with 12 units in CSU Long Beach.
I have also got opportunity to get exposure in professional life. To keep in touch with my subject and to have working experience I volunteered at Westview organization (down syndrome, autism, inadequacy people) at Anahem city, California. Right now I am working part time job at IHSS Orange County. During my work exposure I have developed my communication skill, leadership skill, time management skill etc.
Now, I am looking for to pursue my higher study with my subject from NAME of COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY. Strong urge to gain in-depth knowledge in social science coupled with fulfilling my dream to help people have incited me to choose Sociology and health science as my future major and to pursue higher study from your esteemed institution. If opportunity arises, I desire to carry on research unknown areas of Sociology and health science and unravel new facts in this subject.
I have gone through profiles of well-known and distinguished faculties in the department of Sociology of your organization and I have found that I can fulfil my aspiration if I get an opportunity to pursue higher study in your university. I must appreciate the work of NAME OF ONE OR TWO PROFESSOR in the field of NAME OF FEW RESEARCH AREAS OF THOSE PROFESSORS and I would to work under his/her guidance.
If I need to mention about my positive attribute, in which I have pride, should be my hard working nature, my personality, my time management skill and my social responsibility. Though I have a family with a kid; my hard work and time management skill have helped to achieve 4.00 GPA in my last school. I think that personal development by gaining knowledge is fruitful when it is used for social development.
I think that there is no limitation of age in case of learning or gaining knowledge. Self-development can be done at any point of time. I have full confidence on my perseverance, sincerity, hardworking as well as work experience which should distinguish me from the other candidates.
