1. Which domain out of the four domains of leadership do you seem more inclined due to your results?
2. Critique the assessment. Did you agree with your results? Why or Why not?
Yes I do agree with the Assessment. I find myself really inclined towards futuristic domain. The reason is that sometimes as a problem solver I did dwell on the short comings, rather that working constantly and become a ‘Restorative’. Perhaps I am not in for this role and I sometimes think that how to be more creative, innovative and pro-actively solve a problem. I think over the options so that in future this problem may not repeat. Thinking and dwelling in the present often bores me as I do not want to follow or live in the everyday mundane activities. I always find myself thinking about the future and vivid mental images of the coming months, years, or decades often impel me to move into action.
3. How does your result relate to your personal and professional development?
Often the clear, descriptive and vivid mental images provide me tremendous motivation to work so that this vision can actually be transformed into reality in the future. This is the reason I look at the things innovatively with an out of the box thinking and often my work is creative and driven by futuristic vision. For example, if I am entrusted to resolve a problem, I will resolve it in the way that it does not appears in the future. This is how my work is different as compared to a problem solver, as the latter might take the documented steps to resolve a give problem. However, my approach as a visionary thinker is different and rather innovative. Thus, the results perfectly relate to how I have been working and developing professionally.
4. What are some action steps you can take to improve your skills based on this assessment?
There are few actions which I should take, based on this assessment, which will help me to improve on my skills. These are as follows:
a. First and foremost, to excel in the domain where I fit-in the best, I must take up those roles where in I am required to contribute my ideas about the future. This makes sense, as if I take up a role, say, Systems Administrator, then everyday my job is to resolve the day to day issues. So I must take up those roles like Systems Analyst or Manager, where I can suggest for future.
b. I must associate with those people who can appreciate, encourage and help me to make my ideas a reality.
c. I must try and network with someone who has strong futuristic talents and visionary.
